Feliz Navidad Traditions

Due to two sick kids, all of our Christmas Eve plans had to be cancelled, so that means we stayed home all cozy together.

Christmas morning brought us a completely healthy family and lots of new and old traditions.

Our Family Traditions:

*Make Christmas cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve

Since the kids were sick, I wouldn't recommend that anyone eat these cookies.
Braden's special note for Santa

*The kids all sleep together (I loved doing this with my sister)

*Wake up nice and early to open presents.  This year, the kids asked Santa to take them on a scavenger hunt for their presents.  Santa granted their wish.  Our itty bitty Charlie Brown Christmas Tree (now named the Aiken tree) is actually a live tree that we will be planting at our new house)

*Breakfast of Eggs Benedict and Grapefruit (following Patrick's grandparent's tradition)

*Family snow shoe adventure that also included extreme sledding

Elise and Braden (and Calle) blazing our own trail on this sweet mountain.  It had such deep powder that was perfect!
Mr. Will following Calle's path

Mr. Will almost to the top

After all that play in the snow, we headed to Galena Lodge for hot cocoa and to warm up by the fire.

*Watch a family movie at night under a mound of blankets.

Merry Christmas from the Buchanan Family!
